Post Greatest Bobby Knight Moments

Indiana University has seen many iconic figures come and go. Bobby Knight was the breath of the Hoosier basketball program for 29 years. While his coaching tactics were controversial, the record over his tenure was impeccable and he was always known for running a clean program with zero recruiting violations and a high number of graduating players. Of course, he wasn’t always nice, but he got the job done with three NCAA championships. Here are five of the greatest uncensored moments Bobby Knight ever had in the media spotlight:

Bobby Knight Golf Outtakes - When it comes to shooting golf promos, toss Tiger Woods out the door—Knight’s your man! Best moment: “I mean that’s a great f*cking introduction, Peter. Jesus!”

Bobby Knight & the Purdue Mascot - If you give Knight a television show, you've got to see this coming. As he drives in the brilliant guest spot of “Jack,” I realize that this moment was probably the pinnacle of quality television. It’s been downhill ever since.

Bobby Knight Recruits - If Bobby Knight could sell water to a well, he would—there’d be quite a bit of cussing, though. But that would be one satisfied well. Mmmmm, water...

Bobby Knight’s Angry Motivation Speech - There are few places I’d be afraid to be in life, and one of them is in a locker room with Bobby Knight. I guess this is his way of expressing the fact that an 8-10 record is unsatisfactory. Wait, I don’t think he uses that word…

Bobby Knight Explains his Favorite Word - I’m not sure this reporter knew what he was getting into when he asked the question. What, you think the man hasn’t had that answer canned up inside for all these years? Did you think you’d surprise him?

What Isiah Thomas Learned from Bobby Knight - I obviously didn’t choose this one because Knight went on any rampages or caught the media’s attention. Notice the glare Thomas gets when he heads into uncharted territory with his embarrassing speech. Chilling!

Bobby Knight Throws a Chair - Yes, he had better moments. Unfortunately, this is one of the lasting images we’ll have of the man who brought so much to our program. Really though, what the hell else was he supposed to throw?

These are awesome, and I love all the jealous Purdue fans who flame it in the comments. That might have even been more entertaining.

Bob Knight defined Indiana basketball and made it a tradition. I miss the General. Kelvin Sampson has nothing on him. The Wisconsin game showed that we are not an IU basketball team in the traditional sense--we play no defense, don't have a structured offense, and well--the guys just don't care. I miss Bob Knight and wish he was still here at IU.

THE GENERAL will always have a place in my heart.

Although his style was offbeat and sometimes downright inappropriate, I dont think he'd condone the offensive language used by the student section

Awesome stuff, did you see ESPN's highlight reel that they've been playing? It's pretty amazing too. What the hell's a game face?
