We like to think that our media sources are objective in their aims, and they often are. But isn’t it best when there’s violence involved? Today, we’ve got two such squabbles and a sweet—but appropriately “violent” – story from NASA.
Will Ferrell eats Power Lunch for breakfast – Somehow, this took about 3 years to surface considering the Ken Lay joke (died in ’06) and the Gephardt reference. Regardless, Ferrell’s comedic genius is beautifully complimented by Bill Griffeth’s square personality. While the antics appear random and unplanned, this may be one of the building blocks to Ferrell’s now infamous impromptu bits that have apparently gained him a
small fortune.
Lamest Ice Skating Feud Ever – In the history of beefs – celebrities, rappers and what have you – never has there been a more pathetic rivalry than one between two male figure skaters. While Evan Lysacek took out Johnny Weir for the men’s US Figure Skating Championships, this interview shortly beforehand is a classic display of passive-aggressive cattiness. And look at the reporter, trying to fuel the flames! Classic journalism.
A Violent History of Time – I’ve seen eclipses and stuff, but gamma rays? Scientists can look millions of years into the past through gamma ray telescopes and see these violent explosions. The distance is actually measured to be “cosmological,” or beyond comprehension. Yeah, they’ll probably make some inferences about the explosions and how it has perhaps affected Earth in the past. But aside from that, they just look really gnarly.
