Indiana University has a long and storied history of basketball excellence. While you can watch a lot of the throwback games on ESPNClassic and the Big Ten Network, you just want the good stuff, don't you? The highlight material! So, I've put together a short list of some of the stuff you can't see on TV, some of the best dunks ever caught on tape of a player in a Hoosiers uniform throwing it down. Here are the top five:
Mike White didn't make the list, but some of his buddies did.
(1)
Hoosier Hysteria--A.J. Ratliff dunk
If you weren't lucky enough to be at Hoosier Hysteria last year, that really sucks for you. You may not get the goosebumps that everyone in the building did while watching this dunk it person, but you at least get an idea of why Ratliff is a fan favorite. He clears three people doing the splits. Can you say ridiculous?
(2)
Gordon dunk vs. UNCW
Did anyone else think he was going to pass the ball in this fast break? I sure did. But instead, he just posterized the guy trying to defend him. It was great that even these early, crappy games were packed, just so people could see EJ go nuts.
(3)
Jordan Crawford: Dunk contest winner
Remember how no one knew who Jordan Crawford was right before the season? This is how he made sure every one learned his name pretty quickly.
(4)
Patrick Ewing Jr. 2003
Alright, so he ended up being overrated and transferred to Georgetown, but this man could dunk! In the 2003 Hoosier Hysteria dunk contest, he showed how he could glide through air with this masterpiece.
(5)
Eric Gordon 1 hand slam vs. TSU
A nice little cut, a perfect pass, and a fantastic dunk. Can anyone see him in the NBA next year?
