The New Year is just around the corner and people are starting to make their resolutions for 2008. While some of you may be stuck on things to give up for next year, I've got a few ideas that probably apply to most. Here are my ideas:
1)
Stop drinking on school nights
Thursday, of course, doesn't count, but the bars in Bloomington are packed seven days a week. My guess would be that grades would be a lot higher if people stopped drinking so much. Give it up at least another day and my guess is that the grades will be on the rise.
2)
Go to class
Of course, not drinking doesn't help if you don't actually go to class. My classes were looking very empty towards the end of the semester...
3)
Show up to basketball games on time
If you paid the 200-some dollars for tickets, start making the games a priority. Get there on time and fill the seats! I'm sick of Assembly Hall being empty before halftime. If you want to complain about the "old people", the students have to prove they're good fans.
4)
Buy yourself some nice beer once in a while
You really think you're only good enough for Keystone? Give yourself a treat once in a while. Keystone really doesn't taste good--stop kidding yourself.
5)
Walk to class every so often
The buses are always packed. Cars are all over the place. Burn off some of those beer calories and walk to class. It's not
that cold if you bundle up.
Of course, I probably won't do any of these things. Just thought I'd help you all! Happy New Year!
