I have one goal in my four years at Indiana University. Not to graduate. Not to be a great student. I would just like to be “that guy”. You know that creepy guy at parties that everyone tries to stay away from? I would like to be HIM. That’s why I do my best to be in every picture that girls take. Not with them. Not in the action. Just behind them, giving the scariest look you’ll ever see. I’m still learning the tricks of the trade, but soon, I hope to be a pro. Though I am not yet the world's best "that guy", here are some of my tips for success:
(1)
Be where the action is. If you are around the hotspot of the party, you're bound to end up in the photos.
(2)
Let the moment come to you. Sometimes, it doesn't require being right in the middle of everyone. You can linger in the background with a plan and watch everything unfold beautifully in front of you.
(3)
Be prepared. Many of the opportunities will come with little or no notice. Always be ready to make your face do its crazy thing.
(4)
The bigger, the better. At no time is being "that guy" inappropriate. Remember this. It doesn't matter if the picture is of your little brother's first steps or the president shaking hands with terminally ill children. Do what you have to do.
(5)
Never, ever give up. You are never too old to be "that guy". If at first you dont succeed, try, try, try again. Someday, you may find out that you too are among the web's best "that guy"s.
