Alright, so this video has been out for a while now, but it’s just starting to gain popularity. One of the biggest Internet videos of last year feature actor Will Ferrell and his abusive landlord, played by a small child known only as “Pearl”. The video features a character not so far outside of Ferrell’s norm, but Pearl is a fresh face with a potty mouth. She is the toughest landlord this side of Brooklyn. Well, Pearl is back in a clip called “Good Cop, Bad Cop.”
The Landlord had great success, but will its sequel?
At the end of the video, the creators announce that it is unfortunately Pearl’s retirement from online acting. She will certainly be missed as her career was short, but sweet. While Ferrell will certainly be featured in many movies to come, he may not be as successful without his young sidekick. This video features Pearl as a hard ass lieutenant brought in to rough up criminals after the nice approach doesn’t work. Her performance is memorable and intimidating—you truly believe that she could carry all of those mean and cruel feelings inside her tiny frame. Ferrell’s performance is real and captivating, really displaying the human side of a cold-blooded killer. At times, you almost feel sorry for him.
The video is four minutes long, but if you liked “The Landlord”, it’s certainly worth your time. So, without further ado, “Good Cop, Bad Cop”:
