I hate that so many people who NEVER gave a care in the world and NEVER voted now are all of a sudden alll over his nuts. Then they bash McCain with no intellectual background/support behind it. They are always like "he's old" or some stupid shit like that. Those people, you know the ones who wear skin tight pants and cut three lines in the side of their head...

...are damaging our society.

I wish people would take a split second break from sucking his nuts to really analyze this man and see he is not deserving to lead us. So many people listen to his words and come away impressed by how he says it not what it entails. How can we trust a man who associates with Tony Rezko, William Ayers and Reverend Wright? Someone whose plans for National heath care, the Iraq War, and the Economy are elementary at best and unrealistic to everyday life. This is not Sim City Mr. Obama but the United States of America.

I hope you guys do your research before November 4th......

Question guilty-by association, eh?

i tend to agree with you about people being uninformed and voting for the best-looking, glossed over candidate...but this is democracy at work, like it or not. i think its GREAT that more people will be voting than ever this november

as for nobama's associations, here are some the first results that come up when you google...

"mccain and richard quinn"
Daily Kos: McCain Campaign Paid $50,000 to a White Supremacist

"mccain and rev. john hagee"
CJR: The McCain-Hagee Connection

"mccain and the la raza organization"
Michelle Malkin John McCain: La Raza’s voice in Washington

looks like there is more research to be done for both parties

I would first like to apologize. It totally slipped my mind to add that I think it is a very very good thing that so many young and old people for that matter and so interested in this election. It should be like this every election. I am a avid supporter for people to utilize the right to vote. I guess I got caught up in the heat of the moment.

My sole argument was that these new voters and not taking the time in doing their research and could make a terrible decision that will effect us for years to come. I beg to everyone to do their homework and lets choose the right candidate, not the one who looks they best or the most personable.

What's so bad about good looks??

Yes. People should be incredibly in-tune with the issues candidates stand for, but what's so bad about having a head of state who isn't staring at a teleprompter-- depending on a script --every speech he/she gives?

I realize Obama and Mccain's speeches aren't freestyle, but one candidate is much better at portraying his passion for the issues through his words.

I think that, above any issue Mccain or Obama stand for, the one that matters most both in my mind and in the eyes of the world (they matter too), is the ability to orate.

We're coming out of an era where, regardless of the decisions that were made on the ground and the actions taken by our government, our country was mocked by the world for the way our leader spoke and acted in public.

Exhibit A

Exhibit B

Vote Obama Baby

Thank you Beerme for showing a great example with one of my initial arguments that the media loves Barack Obama. They are all over him just like all the kids who look my girly than my sister. I didn't want to bring outside influence into our discussion but here are some quotes that will disturb you:

"Israel is a strong friend of Israel, under a McCain administration Israel would be a strong friend of Israel and under an Obama administration, Israel would be a strong friend of Israel"- Barack Obama.

I read that 6 or 7 times and still don't know what he was trying to say.

“for the first time in my adult life I am proud of my country.” Michelle Obama.

Wow. I will always be proud of my country no matter what. Why would you want someone in office who is not?!?!?

"In case you missed it, this week, there was a tragedy in Kansas. Ten thousand people died -- an entire town destroyed,"-Barack Obama

12 people died......

gatewaypundit.blogspot.com/2008/06/more-obama-gaffes-including-kids.html

A little video evidence for you guys too. Check out all the links.

Barack Obama is an overrated speaker. Lets end this argument about speech techniques.

No problem...I hope though, that you're not trying to argue that the provided clips were 'biased'...I mean, they contain actual footage of actual speeches. The "outside influence" has no bearing on the way a speech comes out

Well then let me assist. I think that this is one of Obama's few gaffes, but all politicians misspeak...even to the point of declaring that Pakistan borders Iraq...

Was this a good statement politically? No. It will be held against her for the rest of the campaign regardless of context. But I guess we disagree when it comes to that unconditional pride you describe. I'll admit that, like Michelle, I have moments where I question our country's motives. For instance, for a brief moment, I was NOT proud of my country when the Abu Ghraib scandal unfolded. I was embarrassed. I believe Michelle was speaking from the heart when she made this statement, and I think she actually sparked a national debate on what exactly the definition of patriotism is.

(By the way, great article to be read here: McCain and Obama on Patriotism - TIME)

I'll admit- I cannot defend that. Clearly a mistake.

Are Obama's oratorical skills "overrated?" Perhaps. This guy is NOT Lincoln, he is NOT FDR, he is NOT Truman, he is NOT JFK and he damn sure is NOT Churchill. But really- putting him head-to-head with Mccain, you're saying the two have equal abilities in captivating and inspiring their audiences? I guess we just disagree.

When I saw Obama speak at IU this year, I can't say I hardly ever saw him look down at his papers. Sure- he can memorize a speech pretty damn well. Is that a shallow qualification? I just don't think it should be overlooked- whether it's all 'just an act' or not doesn't matter...with the power of youtube and the international press, the appearance of our heads of state is PARAMOUNT in this election.
