Indiana football got its first commitment for 2009 yesterday when dual threat quarterback
Edward Wright Baker verbally committed to play for the Hoosiers.
The 6'2", 205 lb athlete out of Jeffersonville High School (IN) chose to stay closer to home and picked IU over Kentucky, Louisville, Michigan State, and Purdue.
Baker could be a long-term successor for QB Kellen Lewis, who has taken the Hoosier offense to another level with his dynamic running ability and capable arm. Baker has a similar skill set to the IU star QB, and may be able to help the IU offense not miss a beat when Lewis graduates.
More information on IU's newest commit will be available soon!
