Jamar Smith violates probation, now a wanted man

Talk about taking a rivalry to the extreme! Inside the Hall posted this story today about Jamar Smith, a former Bruce Weber recruit over at Illinois. Wow... they really hate the Illini now, huh? Crazy, I think. Reminds me a little of Bud Mackey.

I think the latest news is that he's actually turned himself in. This kind of thing doesn't make Weber look good though.

Bring more Illini recruits this way! I think it's hilarious how this Illinois-Indiana rivalry came out of nowhere. Besides the EJ dispute, we have no more history with Illinois than we do with Michigan or Penn State. Weber probably just created the idea of a rivarly to keep people from thinking about what a terrible job he did last year.

Reports today that smith has been dismissed from the Illini team. They did not have a choice but to get rid of him

Bruce made the right choice, hopefully the kid can clean up his act somewhere else.
