ESPN says IU will likely suspend, then terminate Sampson

ESPN says that a source has told them the three most likely outcomes of the Kelvin Sampson situation at IU. They are:

"The first and 'by far the most likely,' according to the source, is that Sampson will be suspended this week for the purpose of future termination. He would have 10 days to appeal.

The second is that the school and Sampson will reach an agreement in which the coach would accept a settlement and resign this week.

The third is that the school will not take action against Sampson yet and might extend its ongoing investigation past the stated one-week period. That is a long shot, the source said."

Which option do you think it will be?

I'm going to go with option one. First, no way Sampson is resigning. He'd lose way too much money and he wants to stay with this team at IU. Second, IU wants to clean its hands quickly, no matter how well Sampson has been doing.

Depends on what the settlement is. If IU offers up compensation that would make it a financially sound decision, it may be a (small) possibility.
