On the eve of Election Day, I thought it would be fun to have some interaction and predictions about what we think will happen tomorrow. Here’s what I propose, for anyone who wants to, let’s make our predictions here on IUplanet.com, and after the elections are finally decided – whenever that may be - we’ll look back and see who was the closest. Just for fun, no prizes or anything.
There are so many elections, so here are the possible ones we can predict. You can choose to predict any or all of these races:
- Presidential Race (Obama (D) v McCain (R)): Electoral Votes (national vote percentage if you are adventurous)
- Indiana Gubernatorial Race (Long Thompson (D) v Daniels (R)): Winner
- District 9 Congressional Race (Hill (D) v Sodrel (R)): Winner
I only listed the major party candidates, but if you feel a third party candidate will win, you can certainly predict that.
Because I am writing the article I get the blessing (or curse) of making the first predictions: so here they are.
Presidential Race: Obama wins with 325 Electoral votes to McCain’s 216
• I’ll say the national percentage will be Obama 50.5 to McCain’s 45.5 with the rest left over for other candidates.
Indiana Gubernatorial Race: Daniels beats Long Thompson (by around 20% of the vote)
District 9 Congressional Race: Hill beats Sodrel (by around 5%)
And, just as a side note, I am going to say that Democrats will reach 58 total seats in the Senate, while gaining 28 seats in the House.
